Motorcylist injured in Drift Road crash

A motorcyclist was fighting for his life last night after crashing into a ditch in Bray .
At around 4.50pm yesterday, two motorcycles were driving along Drift Road, heading from Maidenhead toward Windsor when one of the riders lost control of his blue Suzuki GSXR 750 sports motorcycle and ploughed into a ditch near Hawthorn Hill.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in which 27-year-old rider was catapulted through the air into fields near the Bird Hills Golf Club Roundabout.
An air ambulance arrived at the scene at 5.30pm and flew the injured man to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The man suffered serious injuries to his head, ribs and spine and is currently in hospital in a stable condition.
The circumstances of the crash are under investigation,and the road was closed in both directions for some time on Sunday.
A man in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
