The Wedding Singer features television star Jonathan Wilkes (You’ve Been Framed, Love on a Saturday Night) and Natalie Casey (Fame, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps).
Directed and choreographed by Karen Bruce, the Eighties-set musical is based on the 1998 comedy hit that starred one of Jonathan’s favourite actors, Adam Sandler.
Jonathan said: “I saw the plot and thought why not? I loved the original film and have really enjoyed working on the production for the past seven weeks.
“It has been a great experience to work with Natalie Casey as we have a fab relationship on stage.”
Jonathan, who before being involved in the production was busy being a father to his six-month-old son, says his family is missing him.
“Although hopefully they will be coming to the production at some point, along with my good friend Robbie Williams,” he added.
In the production, Jonathan plays Robbie Hart who is everyone’s favourite Wedding Singer. He is the life and soul of the party until he gets left at the altar.
Shot through the heart, he makes every wedding as disastrous as his own until he has to perform at his dream girl’s wedding.
