Big push needed for Wamdsad event

12:00am Wed 27th Jun 07:: written by Kelly Rawlings

The Maidenhead based sports for the disabled organisation, is looking for participants for its fundraiser on Saturday, July 14, which will involve teams pushing disabled members of the club around a route encompassing Maidenhead, Slough, Eton and Windsor.
Participants from pubs, clubs and business are encouraged to get into the spirit of the day by wearing fancy dress.
Wamdsad, based in Braywick Road, has raised more than £400,000 in the last 30 years through The Push and the funds raised have enabled many of the club’s members to achieve sporting success at both local and national level.
More than 750 pushing teams consisting of thousands of volunteers have covered almost 30,000 wheelchair miles since the event began.
Liz Hornby, WAMDSAD Administrator, said: “We are determined to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever before – and that means lots of teams. The more the merrier!”
To enter a team call Liz on 01628 627690 or visit www.wamdsad.co.uk.
