One Maidenhead retailer aiming to "put the "Ooh' back into food' is Budgens in Shifford Crescent, Cliveden View, whose manager, Darren Honour, said: "As a company we are getting right behind it." One of the highlights of Budgens' promotion is a focus on the Red Tractor logo. Darren said: "This verifies the products - including potatoes, apples and pork chops - as all-British." The fortnight was launched in 2002 in response to the foot and mouth crisis and to create an overall flagship event to bring local events to the public's attention. It is held around the same time as Harvest Festival, the traditional time for celebrating our food, especially freshly picked produce. In just three years the event has become the definitive national celebration of regional foods and drinks, and the health benefits and pleasures of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regionally distinct produce.
