This is a very special year for Sandhurst Band, Berkshire's Premier Brass Band, as we celebrate 100 years of music making. We are marking our centenary with a Gala Concert at the Hexagon in Reading. Brand new to the running circuit, Vision 5K will take place in Palmer Park, Reading on the 6th July 2008 and is based on a winning formula that has enjoyed huge success in the US.
According to organiser, Ed Charles: “We hope runners of all ages will join in the fun. As a deafblind charity we are actively encouraging people with sight and hearing impairments to take part. Additionally, we are offering pairs of runners the opportunity to undertake one lap blindfolded while being led by a non-blindfolded partner.” 1.00pm.

Open gardens at Thrive's Trunkwell Garden
Part of the National Garden Scheme. Open 2-4.30pm in aid of Thrive. Trunkwell Garden, Beech Hill, near Reading, is set in a lovely restored Victorian walled garden will be open to the public. This beautiful 3 acre working garden includes individual plots, a fruit garden, woodland area, wildlife pond and a “Secret Garden” – all of which are gardened by local people with a disability. Entrance £2.50 for adults, £1 for children under 16, free for children under 6, ample parking, dogs on leads welcome.
