Billy Elliot - Theatre Royal

A talented cast from Songtime Theatre Arts bring this fantastic production to the Theatre Royal this week, writes Sonia Kapur.
The story of Billy Elliot was told by young children - some who looked no more than the age of five. The fun-packed musical was full of quirks, mimics and colour.
Max Bowden played Billy at the Windsor theatre on Tuesday night, and what a fabulous job he did. Not only was he funny, a great actor and a dancer - but his performance was full of emotion.
I especially liked the scene when Billy vents out his frustration after hearing that his family will not accept him being a dancer. He performs a tap dance to illustrate his anger.
We also see how important dancing is for Billy in one of the final scenes when the dance school ask him: 'How do you feel when you dance?' He performs a beautiful dance to show how he feels, and was awarded with a round of applause from the delighted audience.
A great show with a group of budding stars who hopefully have a very long career ahead of them.
The show runs at Windsor's Theatre Royal until Saturday night.
