Two more bands were catapulted through to the next round of the Maidenhead Live music contest to find the best performers in town.

Thursday night saw another four bands battle it out at Heroes Bar in Maidenhead.
They were The Vinyl, Silver Fin, Jurassic Dave and Scars and Riots.

Once again there were two winning places up for grabs, one from the judges vote and the other to be chosen by the audience vote.

Winning the judges vote were Mod band, The Vinyl.
Stuart Atkinson, the band's singer and guitarist, said: "We got some quite good feedback on the night which was good."

Apart from this competition, the band are spending most of their time in the studio writing for a new album. They hope to come up with 25 demos to whittle down to 12 tracks for the album so watch this space.

Music industry expert Gav Barnard was one of the judges they managed to impress. He said: "The Vinyl stood out as the strongest act. They have more songs and more vibe about them."

But he also had some praise for Scars And Riots who won the audience vote after performing an unusual cover track amongst their set.

Gav said: "This was their first gig and I was impressed with their vocals, I think they have potential."
This was heat two of five and The Vinyl and Scars And Riots now join post mod-rock band The Spartans and Indie rockers High Child in the next round.

The big prize they are all aiming for includes £200, a recording session at Denmark Studios in Maidenhead and a photo shoot with photographer Terry Payman.

Here is the line-up for heat three which takes place at Heroes Bar in King Street, Maidenhead at 8pm on Thursday, June 25.
