More than £8,000 will be donated to a number of charities over the next few months following the success of this year’s Marlow May Fayre on Saturday.

Visitors to the event, which is organised by Marlow Round Table, could browse the stalls, enjoy a BBQ or take part in a number of games.

There was also the duck race which started at 4pm.

Nick Skelton, one of the organisers, said,: “The turnout for this year was significantly uplifted than recent years which mayhave been down to the weather.

“It was a great event and we managed to sell out the 1200 spaces for the duck race.”

The Round Table will decide where the £8,000 will be donated to over the next couple of months.

Nick added: “We like to focus on local causes rather than national or international causes.

“Whether it is a school which needs money for its rowing team or a charity, we take everyone into consideration.”
