The 1st Maidenhead Sea Scouts annual summer fair was extra special on Sunday as a number of new bell boats were christened.
The new boats were launched at the club’s headquarters in Summerleaze Road.
A donation from the Maidenhead Lions Club enabled the purchase of the boats and Lions Club president, Robin Butler, attended the event to see the boats in action.
He said: “The cause especially appealed to us because the boats will be used by members of all ages from as young as six years old to adults from the local community and we were very impressed by the fundraising efforts made by the group.”
As well as the launch, visitors to the event could also browse a number of schools and play fair games.
Money raised from the event will go towards the running of the scout group, which is also on the lookout for new leaders to join the team.
