The body of a woman has been found in Boveney Lock following a missing person's appeal by Thames Valley Police to trace a 68-year-old woman.
In the early hours of this morning, Thames Valley Police launched an appeal asking for the public’s help to trace Muriel who was missing from Slough.
Officers searching for her found the body of a woman at just after 1.10pm today (December 1) following a call from a member of the public.
Detective Inspector Peter Wall, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Tragically, following a search for Muriel, a body was recovered from the water in Dorney earlier today.
“Although formal identification has not yet taken place, we believe this to be Muriel, and her next of kin have been made aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“My thoughts are with Muriel’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
