Marlow rower begins Atlantic voyage record attempt
Giant waves and the threat of being capsized by ocean liners await a Marlow rower who has set off on a world record attempt to cross the Atlantic.
Greg Symondson, who has rowed with Marlow Rowing Club since the age of 13, set off from the Canary Island of La Gomera on Monday heading for Port Charles, Barbados.
As part of the Atlantic4 team he will row 3,000 miles unaided for Spinal Research as well as attempting to break the record for the youngest team to ever row the Atlantic.
The event is part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.
