Football fans are hoping to stage a match in honour of England's first captain Cuthbert Ottaway - who played a game for Marlow FC back in the 1870s. A memorial game between Englandfans FC and Marlow FC is being planned for Riley Park, which was previously Crown Meadow and the home of Marlow FC from 1870 to 1914. Ottaway played for the Oak Tree Road outfit in the first ever FA Cup competition - with the Blues losing the game.

A feisty female racing driver is giving the boys a run for their money in a motorsport competition. Racing instructor Jade Edwards is battling it out in the Ma5da MX5 Championship 2012, which sees her compete at race tracks across the country. The 22-year-old from Maidenhead made a positive start in the first round at Silverstone last month. "I got a fifth and a third - a podium finish," she said.

Windsor Leisure Centre

Fitness-lovers will have enhanced facilities to train and exercise in at Windsor Leisure Centre after development plans were revealed. The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead council will start work on a £320,000 extension at the Stovell Road facility in June, which will be ready for use in January next year. These include an expanded BodyZone gym that will be extended to the second floor where £40,000 worth of training equipment will be installed.

A junior tennis player has been put through her paces after reaching the finals of a Lawn Tennis Association talent identification event in London. Sophie Drakeford-Lewis, 13, from Sonning, was one of 20 young players from across the country invited to train at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, after progressing through regional 'talent ID' days. Sophie, who trains at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, was able to showcase her ability.
