Mark Bantock, Ryan Buckett and Andrew Knapper from Desborough BC are the 2009 Men’s Berkshire Triples champions after defeating Rex Moore, John Heapy and Paul Ryman from Hagbourne 29-10 in the final, held at York Road on Sunday.

Bantock is among the 12 men and women bowlers who will represent England at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi next October.

Captain of England in the British Isles International Series last year, Bantock won silver in Melbourne in 2006 playing in the pairs with Ian Bond.

This time he will be partnered by Reading ace Robert Newman.

Tim Eales is the county unbadged singles champion after a 21-12 win against Neil Jones of Palmer Park.

At various stages of the game, the Maidenhead Town BC player led his opponent 10-7 and 17-9, but the scores only advanced by single figures during the last seven ends of the match.
