Windsor claim bragging rights

Windsor men's 1sts retained the local bragging rights with a strong 3-1 success over neighbouring South Bucks.

After a bright start, Windsor edged in front when some good play from Garth Hinkel set up Kev Jones to fire home.

They then missed some good chances to extend their lead and they were made to pay when South Bucks snatched an equaliser following a  mistake by Tony Lees.

Windsor soon regained the lead, however, when they were awarded a penalty flick after Tom Christophers' shot was kicked off the line by a defender. Christophers scored the flick to send his into the break 2-1 in front.

Alex Johnson then wrapped things up with a third after the interval to seal the win for Windsor.

Windsor men's 2nds remain in third place despite a 4-1 defeat at Reading University.

Despite some fine performances from Sam Setchell and Andy Hayward alongside Neil MacFarlane and Tom Pocock, the visitors were unable to finish off their chances against a more youthful opposition.

Both ladies teams suffered defeats at home with Windsor 1sts losing 5-1 to City of Oxford Ladies 2s in Trysports Premier Division 2. Amy Neal bagged a consolation goal for the home side.

The 2nds fell to a 2-0 defeat against Kidlington despite a fine display from player-of-the-match Nikki Cole.
