Premier League football graces the Madejski Stadium again this season after Reading FC's triumphant title-winning campaign in the npower Championship in 2011/12.

The Royals secured promotion to the Barclays Premier League with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in April, after a fantastic surge in the second half of the season saw them climb to the top of the league table.

Brian McDermott's Reading FC had narrowly missed out on a return to the Premier League a year earlier, when they lost to Brendan Rodgers' Swansea City FC in the 2011 Championship play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

Prior to this season, the Madejski Stadium had only staged Premiership football in the 2006/7 and 2007/8 seasons - during the first of which the Royals missed out on UEFA Cup qualification by just one place, finishing in eighth.

A year later the Premiership table did not make such kind viewing for Reading FC fans, as Steve Coppell's side were relegated on the last day of the season in 18th.

Supporters will be hoping the Royals achieve Premier League survival this time around.
