Weekend football round-up: Magpies claim fine away win

Maidenhead United FC completed a league double over Eastbourne Borough with a well deserved 2-0 away win on Saturday.

The Magpies raced into a two-goal lead before the break with goals from Leigh Henry and Alex Wall before defending their lead resolutely in the second half.

Slough Town remained three points clear at the top of the Southern Central Division following a comfortable 3-0 home success against Chertsey Town.

Nathan Bowden-Haase gave the Rebels the lead on 31 minutes and strikers Danny Burnell and Sean Sonner rounded off the win after the interval.

It wasn't such a good day for Burnham, however, who fell to a heavy 4-1 loss at Rugby Town despite Harry Pritchard's goal.

Struggling Marlow remain rooted to the bottom of the table after losing 3-1 to Biggleswade Town at Oak Tree Road.

Aaron Couch had given the Blues a first half lead but the visitors hit back strongly to claim the three points.

In the Combined Counties Premier Division, Windsor produced a stunning fightback to beat Molesey 4-3.

Keith Scott's side found themselves 3-0 down in the first half but two goals apiece from Ryan O'Toole and Michael Chennells sealed a remarkable win.

In the Hellenic League Premier Division, Flackwell Heath lost 2-0 against Oxford City Nomads.

In the Reading Senior League, Marlow United picked up a 4-2 win against Woodcote Stoke Row, Cookham Dean drew 1-1 at Park United while Taplow United lost 2-1 at Mortimer.

In the Championship, Jason Roberts marked his Reading debut with the winning goal as the Royals beat Bristol City 1-0.

In League 1, Wycombe slumped to the bottom of the table after they lost 5-2 at home to Brentford despite goals from Dave Winfield and Ben Strevens.
