High five for Magpies boss
Maidenhead United FC boss Johnson Hippolyte says his side needs five more wins to all but secure their spot in the Blue Square South next season.
Having enjoyed a strong start to the current campaign in which they were as high as fourth in September, the Magpies suffered an alarming loss of form which saw them fall as low as 19th in December.
But since then they have picked up again and a run of 14 points from a possible 21 has seen them move up to 14th.
They are now nine points from the drop zone and although he doesn’t want to set a points target, Hippolyte knows one more strong run of form will be enough to see them safe.
He said: “Normally you need around 45 points but I don’t work too much on stats.
“If we can win another four or five games that should be enough.
“We’ve been in a decent run of form, results have really picked up which is pleasing.
“But there’s still a long way to go and we have to keep doing what we have been, we can’t let our standards slip.”
