Truro City (3) 4, Maidenhead United (1) 4

Dave Tarpey scored all four goals for Maidenhead United as they twice back from two down to earn a memorable draw at Truro City.

Both teams are potential play-off contenders in the National League South, but it was the hosts who took control initially and led 3-1 at the interval.

Tarpey, whose first-half goal came on 42 minutes, reduced the deficit again early in the second half.

However, the Magpies were soon 4-2 down and it was not until 80 minutes were up, that Tarpey netted his hat-trick to keep the visitors in the match.

The equaliser, and Tarpey’s fourth, came on 89 minutes and there was still time for the prolific No.9 and also Jake Reid to have chances cleared off the line.

The morale-boosting draw leaves the Magpies in 11th place in the table, seven points off a coveted top five spot ahead of their clash at York Road on Tuesday against rival play-off contenders Whitehawk
