Crunch time for Magpies
Maidenhead United FC boss Johnson Hippolyte says his side are heading into a crunch seven days which could define how the remainder of their season pans out.
Sitting 15th in the Conference South, the Magpies are eight points from the drop zone after an impressive run of form in the last two months.
On Saturday they travel to basement boys Thurrock before hosting Boreham Wood the following weekend, who sit just one place above them.
And Hippolyte knows two positive results will leave his team in a great position ahead of the season’s run-in.
He said:“They are two very big games for us, if we can get two good results they will go a long way to helping us to what we’re trying to achieve.
“I think it’s fair to say that if we beat Thurrock we can say they are a team that we won’t have to worry about.
“They will be a long way behind us and you wouldn’t imagine them getting enough points to close that gap.
“And then we play Boreham Wood, if we can beat them that would drag them right into us and bring us within touching distance of the sides above.”
Hippolyte added:“These are really big games for us.
“We’ve been in good form and we need to carry on where we left off before the break.”
