Thousands of people lined the streets of Windsor today to watch the tri-service parade and muster held in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. About 2,500 troops marched through the town's streets before mustering inside the grounds of Windsor Castle from 10.30am. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh also waved to well wishers as they were driven along the parade route.
Music from the movies and a traditional classical repertoire featuring singers from the West End will entertain crowds at this year's Maidenhead Carnival. International singers John Langley and Jayne O'Mahony will be headlining the carnival concert under the direction of Cookham born pianist and producer Toby Cruse. The annual carnival is one of the biggest events in the town's calendar and will be coinciding with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee
Traffic chaos was caused in Windsor today after a car caught fire ahead of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Muster. Fire crews from Windsor were called to Barry Road after the car overheated and burst into flames. Police and firefighters had to close the road at 8.40am causing huge queues as visitors tried to get into town to watch the parade and muster.
Two big screens will be set up in the Long Walk in Windsor tomorrow so that people can watch the spectacular military parade happening nearby. The screens will be placed between the Park Street and Brook Street entrances with refreshment outlets and public toilets nearby. The parade involves 2,500 army, navy and air force representatives and will start soon after 10.30am

Former TV fitness star Lizzie Webb drew the public ballot for tickets to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee on Wednesday. The ballot was drawn at the Berkshire Community Foundation in Theale for a chance to join 4,000 guests with the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh at an official Diamond Jubilee Party in Henley on June 25.
