Man rescued from bedroom blaze
A man had to be rescued from a house fire in Waltham St Lawrence this morning.
The 27-year-old was pulled from his bedroom by his father after an electric heater caught fire.
He was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation and burns and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading.
Firefighters from Maidenhead were called to the property, close to the village primary school, shortly before 6.30am.
*An electric heater was also blamed for a fire at property in Maidenhead High Street yesterday evening.
A crew from Maidenhead were called to put out the fire at 6.15pm.
Steve Hogg, watch manager for Maidenhead blue watch, warned people using electric heaters in the cold weather to keep them well ventilated and away from clothing.
