A Porsche was in collision with a people carrier outside the Odeon Cinema at 6.52am this morning in Maidenhead.

Police said the accident involved a red Cayman luxury vehicle which collided with a green Suzuki Wagon on the A308 in Frascati Way.

It caused traffic gridlock throughout the morning aross Maidenhead. The A308 left-hand lane into the town centre was closed.

Traffic backed onto the Windsor Road and Braywick Road into Maidenhead.

Two men and two women were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Three of those people were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading and one person was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.

The A308 was reopened at 9.15am.
