Equine careers demonstrated at BCA

From equine dentists to the Household Cavalry, there are dozens of jobs out there for horse fans to consider.

A variety of these were demonstrated at a careers, welfare and education day at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) yesterday.

Running throughout the day at the site in Hall Place, it involved speakers from different aspects of the equine industry.

The event was organised in conjunction with the National Pony Society (NPS) and opened by Caroline Noakes MP, government minister for the horse.

Jobs included in the presentations made during the day included vets and dentists, nutritionalists, equine photographers, and physiotherapists.

The Mounted Police, the Household Cavalry and the charity sector were also represented.

The NPS brought along horses from native breeds and talks were given on their history and uses.
