A moped rider who was killed in a collision in Cox Green has been named as John Bryan from Waltham St Lawrence.

The 57-year-old was involved in a head on collision with a Ford transit van in Woodlands Park Road on Tuesday, a day before he was due to celebrate his 58th birthday.

Friends and family have paid tribute to the father and grandfather who was nicknamed 'John the Shirt'.

An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned. He died at the scene of multiple injuries.
