Olympic swimmer speaks of his success
A BBC weatherman and an Olympic swimmer have spoken to rapt audiences in Cookham about their success.
The penultimate talk yesterday featured Olympian Adrian Moorhouse MBE who won a gold medal for breaststroke at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
Organiser Sarah Parfitt, of High Road, said: "It was absolutely fantastic. We're all feeling really motivated now."
Phillip Avery (pictured below) spoke at Station Hill Cafe, in Station Hill, about his job as a weatherman on Thursday.
He told the audience how he spent six months doing flying training with the Royal Navy. When he was dismissed he helped to launch The Weather Network and joined the BBC.
The workshops were part of a series organised by Cookham-based business Parfitt & Bee Media, with profits going to Holy Trinity CE Primary School and Cookham Nursery.
The final talk by children's author Charles Luxford is at the cafe on Thursday at 10am.
