Diamond Jubilee street party plans
A street party in Cookham to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee is being planned for Monday, June 4.
The organising committee asked Cookham Parish Council for a donation towards the event at the parish council meeting on Tuesday.
Chairman Cllr Derek Fry told the organisers that once the parish's official celebrations - the Stanley Spencer print and oak trees - were paid for the rest of the allocated money could be donated to village projects.
Co-organiser Jayne Milburn, owner of High Street shop Seconds Out, said the committee was waiting for street closure approval from the council at the end of this month.
