Help beat domestic abuse in new charity shop
Help support victims of domestic abuse by volunteering in a brand new charity shop.
Berkshire East and South Bucks Women's Aid supports domestic abuse victims from across Maidenhead, Windsor and Slough and has three safe houses in Slough which can accommodate up to 13 families.
The charity received £83,000 from the Transition Fund, a government grant to help charities which are at risk from funding cuts. It will use the money to open a boutique-inspired charity shop in Farnham Common called White Ribbons, to tie in with the White Ribbon Campaign to end violence against women.
The shop is due to open on Friday, December 9 and volunteers are needed to help with stock control, window dressing and running the till, as well as various roles in the warehouse and helping with promotion.
Head of fundraising and PR Caroline said: "It's a great way to meet people. The charity shop aims to be really friendly and involve everybody.
"It's an opportunity to give back to the community, make more friends and be part of a team."
