Be aware of bowel cancer symptoms
People are being warned to recognise the symptoms of bowel cancer in a new health campaign.
NHS Berkshire is providing simple information about signs of the disease with information and events in shopping centres, bingo halls and pharmacies.
NHS Berkshire East assistant director of public health Asmat Nisa said: "Bowel cancer is the second highest cause of cancer death in England but catching it early makes it much more treatable."
Patients should recognise new bowel symptoms and report them quickly to their GP, if there is a change in bowel movements or bleeding for more than three weeks.
