MPs are now all tainted
It is incredible anyone (Viewpoint, Advertiser, June 18) can believe any MP is untarnished by the expenses debacle or has their integrity unsullied.
Some MPs did not abuse the system but few spoke out against it and some opposed publication of expenses. It is incredible too that parliamentarians could believe blanked-out expenses would satisfy the media or the public.
The perception now is MPs are institutionally corrupt and institutionally stupid too. Perhaps they just have the wrong type of intelligence; I believe some can speak nonsense in six languages.
Many MPs have said they will now \'engage’ more with the public. Mrs May even said they must knock on doors. It is not going to happen. eceit, self-interest and the interests of cronies and those funding parties will continue to take precedence over the interests of the public.
The police are to investigate some cases of expenses abuse. I hope the police do something completely foreign to our politicians – their duty.
