Wildlife expert to share his stories at Kenton Theatre
A wildlife expert who was behind the camera on some of the BBC's most well known documentaries is stopping off in Henley during his month-long tour.
Multiple Emmy and BAFTA award-winning cameraman and photographer Doug Allan, will speak about his experiences in the four-corners of the world.
He has spent the last 25 years working on epic documentaries like Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Life and Frozen Planet.
An experience marine biologist, Doug spent seven years as a research diver in Antarctica before his career change. In the last year he's been filming emperor penguins in Antarctica, sharks in the Galapagos, and polar bears in the Arctic.
He said: "Big animals are my passion. I love sharing, first hand with audiences, what it’s like to face a hungry polar bear, to swim eye to eye with an enormous Southern Right Whale – and talk about the excitement of being stalked by killer whales in the straits of Gibraltar. It’s like live TV, only better.
Doug Allen - In The Company of Giants is at the Kenton Theatre, Henley on Saturday, May 3.
