Council to consider Bray Studios' film future after housing plan

A motion to formally consider a change of use at Bray Studios will be presented to the council on Tuesday.

It will be presented to Royal Borough councillors by Cllr Clive Baskerville (Lib Dem, Belmont).

The motion comes after studio owners said that the site off Windsor Road could be converted into housing at a later date in a current application to repair its buildings.

Savethebritishfilmindustry.com has been looking into ways of saving Bray Studios and keeping it as a film production venue.

A spokesman said that a filming company, who he did not wish to name, had approached the owners with a view to buy the site, but were told that "they were not interested."

The borough's full council meeting takes place in Maidenhead's Town Hall at 7.30pm.
